Professional Experience and Affiliations:
Dr. Thomson has been an instructor and researcher in biochemistry in the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, Kuwait University since 1980. During her time at Kuwait University, she has served several positions including Editor in Chief of the Kuwait Journal of Science and Engineering (1998-2001) and Director of the Accreditation Office, Faculty of Science (2008-2011). She is a member of several scientific organizations including the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the American Chemical Society and the Protein Society (US).
Dr. Thomson has been Chairperson of the Board of Trustees since May, 2011. Prior to becoming chairperson, Dr. Thomson was a BOT member from 1997 and served as Vice-Chairperson from 2004-2011. Dr. Thomson also chaired the Board Academic Committee for many years. Before joining the BOT, Dr. Thomson was a member of the BBS PTA from 1993-1997 and served as PTA chairperson from 1995-1997.
