Accreditation

Al-Bayan Bilingual School (BBS) achieved accreditation in 1989, and was the first school in the region to have been awarded accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Council of International Schools (CIS), as well as the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education. Their awards acknowledge that BBS continues to meet their requirements for accreditation, as defined by their esteemed institutions.

There is a 5-year accreditation review cycle, which includes yearly updates to CIS, a preparatory visit within 18 months of the upcoming accreditation visit, and the actual accreditation visit in the 5th year. BBS was re-accredited by both CIS and NEASC in March 2021 and will now start the 5-year review and revision cycle in 2022 in preparation for the next accreditation visit in 2025.

BBS is also a member of Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA), The College Board, and the National Honors Society (NHS), which give recognition to students with high academic records, good character, leadership skills, and commitment to their community.
