COUNSELING

The mission of the Al-Bayan Bilingual School Counseling Program is to continue to support the mission of the school by advocating and providing services that address the needs of students academically, socially, post-secondary planning and emotionally through an effective, systematic delivery of relevant programs designed for holistic student achievement. We believe that it essential for students to achieve optimal personal growth, acquire positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and realize full academic potential to become productive, contributing members of the world community.

Social Emotional Counseling

The preschool counselors in collaboration with the Child Study Team (CST) work with students to identify their strengths, interests and needs. When indicated by parents and preschool teachers, they identify potential academic or behavioral difficulties and provide students with support to overcome these developmental problems in a way that promotes holistic wellness and academic success. The preschool counselors frequently monitor students in the classroom and play areas and may provide teachers and parents with feedback on how to optimally meet the preschool students' needs.

Through Child Study Teams (CST) counselors help to provide intervention strategies to maximize individual students’ achievement. In collaboration with teachers, parents and students’ goals and interventions will be planned and implemented by the CST. Guidance support may include individual/group counseling and student monitoring/tracking.

Our counselors also provide guidance to students in developing more effective and efficient study skills, including time management, organization, preparing for exams and goal setting. A fully dedicated academic counselor works closely with students and their parents to help them make an educated choice for higher education. The Counselors provide the students and their parents with a broad base of information and help them analyze the student's individual case to best ensure his/her best interest.
